Early Childhood Screening

Parents of 3-4-year-olds! Has Your Child Been Through Screening?

The early childhood years from birth to the start of kindergarten are an important time of rapid learning and growth.  Early Childhood Screening is a simple check of how children are doing between the ages of 3 and 5 years.  It identifies, at an early stage, possible learning or health concerns so that children can get needed help before starting school.  Early Childhood Screening is NOT an IQ test or kindergarten entrance test.  Screening is a free review of your child’s vision, hearing, development, and immunization records.  A child must either be screened between the ages of 3 and the start of kindergarten OR if a parent is not interested in the screening, they need to fill out the conscientious objector paperwork.  This paperwork can be obtained in the Early Childhood office at Mora Public School.

Children are screened by trained staff at Mora Elementary School. Please
enter at door A4.

You should receive a phone call sometime after your child turns 3 1/2 years
old. If you do not receive a call, please call us at 320-679-6225 to
schedule an appointment.
